What a fantastic day at the Peabody Charity Dragon Boat Race 2026!Â
The East West Connect team had an incredible time representing the Perivale Pirates at Surrey Docks, joining eight other teams for a day of friendly competition, teamwork and fundraising. We raced over a fast-paced 200m course with a full crew of 16 rowers and one drummer working in perfect sync.
After some incredibly close racing, we narrowly missed out on a place in the final by just 0.003 of a second – proof that every stroke really does count!
While we may have just missed the final, we’re incredibly proud to have been part of such a fantastic day and to raise awareness of a very important foundation that supports young people and local communities in need.
The atmosphere was brilliant from start to finish, with great food, refreshments and plenty of support throughout the day.
Most importantly, the event raised an incredible £70,000 for the Peabody Community Foundation, helping to support young people and local communities.
