Technical expertise creating lasting community impact!
A fantastic result from the East West Connect team at Westcott Park Community Garden in Acton.
Following earlier site visits and investigations, Alex, Vidas and Vlad returned to the garden to carry out repairs and cleaning to the solar installation and the system is now working again.
This is about much more than getting solar panels operational.
Restoring the system has helped bring the garden room back into use after six years, providing a sheltered space that can support year-round school activities, community gardeners, London Beekeeping, Acton Primary School programmes and Community Payback volunteers.
It’s a great example of skills-based Social Value, using the technical knowledge and expertise already within our business to solve a real problem for a community organisation.
It also demonstrates how Social Value, sustainability and engineering can work together to create a lasting legacy.
Huge credit to Alex, Vidas and Vlad for all their hard work and thank you to Peabody for giving us the opportunity to support such a worthwhile community asset.
