Mock Interviews with Harris Academy St John’s Wood

Our Social Value Coordinator Martin visited Sixth Form students at Harris Academy St John’s Wood to support a Mock Interview Workshop delivered by Construction Youth Trust.

We all know how important a good first impression is at any job interview, so we were glad to be part of such a valuable initiative.

Martin worked with students in realistic interview scenarios, asking questions and giving constructive feedback to develop their confidence and the skills needed across employment, further education and apprenticeship opportunities.

Interviews can be a daunting thought, but the students were engaged, ambitious, and eager to learn – and we were more than happy to share key insights into the workplace, career pathways and what employers are really looking for during the recruitment process.

Initiatives like this play such a valuable role in students developing confidence, employability skills and self-awareness that will prepare them for the leap from education into the next chapter – whatever that looks like. As youth employment remains a significant challenge and a growing talking point, East West Connect is committed to playing a part in making a positive impact and helping create change.

A huge thanks to Construction Youth Trust and Harris Academy St John’s Wood for arranging such a rewarding session. We believe in providing practical support with such programmes whenever we can, and look forward to continuing to create opportunities, raise aspirations and inspire the next generation.
