Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 8am – 5pm
Probation Period: 6 months

Scope
- To carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive callouts and minor projects on all associated equipment, general fault finding and repairs to assets and services
- To maintain up to date records of all work carried out on plant and equipment within the site manuals both hard copy files and electronically
- To participate within an out of normal working hours emergency call out rota and be flexible outside of core working hours
- To maintain effective working relationships with colleague’s clients, customers and work as part of the EWC Team
- To deal courteously with clients, customers and the general public to maintain and enhance the reputation of EWC
- To continually demonstrate an understanding and commitment to customer care
- To ensure clear communication with customers, line management and office support staff

Knowledge
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing and Heating WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) courses (E)
- Knowledge of the current legislation and good practice across the industry and identification of any areas where additional or updated training would be beneficial. (E)
- Understanding of the H&S at works act, current H&S legislation applicable to construction and the workstreams involved with. (E)
- Knowledge of the current legislation and good practice such as SFG20 along with identification of any areas where additional or updated training would be beneficial. (E)
- Legionella Control Association (LCA) training, City & Guilds Legionella Awareness courses, Water Management Society (WMSoc) courses (D)
- City & Guilds 6169 – Maintenance Operations, drainage-specific training courses (D)
Skills
- Substantial practical experience required: plumbing maintenance in a domestic/industrial/commercial scenario.
- Must have relevant mechanical qualifications.
- To always present a professional image: onsite, in the office and to clients.
- Ability to apply basic problem-solving skills to a variety of situations.
- Full – Clean driving licence that enables the person to drive in the UK.
- Ability to establish good relationships with internal and external team members.
- Good levels of verbal and written communication skills.
Other
- The ability to travel to a range of sites.
- Appreciation that there might be out of hours working, agreed in advance.
Duties
- Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance
- Responding to breakdowns
- Diagnosing faults
- Repairing equipment
- Supervising engineering apprentices
- Obtaining specialist components, fixtures or fittings
- Maintaining accurate records
- Ensuring compliance with company/health and safety legislation
- Creating maintenance procedures
- Managing van stocks of supplies and equipment
- Out of Hours Rota ‘on-call’ work
- To develop an extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical building services and a good understanding of their interfaces with general building works associated with them.
- To gain knowledge of the EWC employee’s handbook, EWC policies and processes and EWC ISO system of works.
