Apprentice Maintenance Electrician

Location: Office / Site Based – Various Sites
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm
Reporting to: Electrical Compliance Supervisor
Probation: 3 months
Start Date: Immediate
Scope
You will work under the supervision of qualified electricians, supervisors and contract managers, supporting planned and reactive maintenance across a range of sites. The role offers exposure to electrical building services systems including switchboards, generators, ATS systems, emergency lighting, fire alarms, PLC-controlled equipment, inspection and testing. You will combine on-site learning with college study and NVQ portfolio work to build your technical competence.

Duties
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with routine maintenance, fault finding and repairs
- Supporting planned and reactive electrical maintenance activities
- Learning how to use engineering tools, equipment and safe working practices
- Assisting with installation, commissioning, testing and inspection work alongside experienced engineers
- Supporting engineering improvement projects and day-to-day site operations
- Working collaboratively with site teams and contributing to project tasks under supervision
- Completing college learning, NVQ portfolio work and apprenticeship requirements
- Following QSHE policies, company procedures and compliance standards at all times
- Completing mandatory training and working safely across all sites
