We’re progressing on site alongside Osborne

The Cat-A fit-out and overall refurbishment of the beautiful Electra House in Moorgate is taking shape, with 2nd fix works taking place on the upper levels, and the mock-up room complete.

We’re co-ordinating the exposed services installation with the building’s original architectural elements from its construction in 1902.

Our scope includes a full shell and core installation, with completely new mechanical, electrical, and public health services serving the refurbished floors and the building’s various retail spaces.

Passive fire protection in the heart of West London

Our specialist fire protection department have recently completed projects for Peabody housing association at Twisaday House and Daley Thompson House in the Portobello area.

The works included new communal doors, flat entry doors, a new fire safe bin chute, and general fire protection improvements throughout the two blocks. The residents of both blocks provided us with great feedback for our team’s performance on the project, noting their diligent, pro-active, and friendly approach, as well as their approach to managing appointments.

New basement plant and services infrastructure

Our shell and core installation at 41 Lothbury is on track with new primary distribution pipework, new electrical distribution, and new ductwork installed across the 3 basement levels.

Other completed works include the installation of new AHUs, the delivery and positioning of the new HV/LV transformers and switchgear, and all new system pumps.

In the near future we’ll be delivering the new plant and services to the roof on the planned crane lifting weekend.

Lifecycle upgrade works without disruption

Our on-site facilities management team successfully completed the first of two planned passenger lift replacements within the Embassy of Japan, in the centre of Piccadilly.

We maintain a daily presence within the Embassy, and our team created a programme of works that utilised their incumbent role to allow the works to proceed without disrupting day-to-day Embassy operations.

The works to the next lift will commence shortly.

Planned maintenance contract in progress

Following our successful completion of the boiler replacement works at the Barrie Estate in West London we have commenced our SFG20 compliant maintenance regime.

Our in-house engineers and operatives are responsible for ensuring the plant and systems serving the 130 dwellings that form the estate provide heating and hot water services all year round.

We’re currently building a case study for the completed installation works, and we’ll let you know when it’s released!

We have a lot going on that we can’t tell you about yet!

Our engineering teams are currently working upon 3 major projects across London within highly prestigious buildings. On one of these projects we’ve recently saved 2.5 million litres of water by utilising Hydrosphere for the pipework flushing process.

We’ve also won awards on site, completed major refurbishment works, and completed services changeover works within live environments with no disruption.

We’ll give you more details as soon as we can!

Paul Anstey and Nisha Patel become mental health first aiders

Their Level 3 Awards in Mental Health: Workplace First Aid will equip them with the knowledge to identify those who require mental health support and the confidence to offer assistance when required.

This qualification was designed and delivered by St John Ambulance.

Marius Crisan leads Spark! work experience week

We were proud to host another cohort of work experience students from Spark! the charity that helps young people make the transition into employment and rewarding careers; supporting them to develop the skills they need and providing meaningful engagement with the working world.

Our colleague Marius engaged with each work experience student, helping them learn about the various roles across each of our departments and various projects.

Josh Braithwaite is a national champion!

A huge congratulations to our colleague at East West Connect, Josh Braithwaite, who was part of the winning team at the Thames Challenge Cup at the Henley Regatta. Racing for Thames Rowing Club, he and his team raced every day from Wednesday to Sunday.

32 crews competed in the Club 8s event as part of the Henley Regatta. No international athletes or students are allowed to enter the Thames Cup so the majority of athletes in this specific event have full-time jobs. Josh and his team beat ‘de Hoop’ from Amsterdam in the final on Sunday. Josh’s win enshrines him as an elite rower in one of the most prestigious events in the rowing calendar.

300,000 spectators attended Henley Regatta and the event was live-streamed on YouTube and BT Sport, you can watch the full race and trophy presentation here.

Once again, amazing work Josh, congratulations!

Audits completed

We complete regular audits at site level, these are followed up by full audits by our QHSE team. We then invite external auditors to our works to guarantee transparency. These visits have ensured that each site is run in accordance with our high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental management. Over the last quarter we have completed:

  • 133 site audits by our contract management staff
  • 9 full audits by our QHSE team
  • 3 external audits by accredited bodies

Site safety bulletins

We’ve issued the following informational safety bulletins, helping improve focus and knowledge of key health and safety issues, to our staff over the previous 3 months:

  • Asbestos
  • Dust
  • Vehicle Roof Racks
  • Incident/Accident Reporting

This quarter’s QHSE committee meeting focused on Asbestos

Our Quarterly QHSE committee is a collaborative event open to our approved supply chain and members of our business from all levels and disciplines.

Hosted by our QHSE team and project directors, the event was an excellent opportunity to educate our stakeholders on the latest information and receive feedback from site level.

Our QHSE engagement drives our business forward, and we are proud to say that our initiatives have been successful in improving safety across the board.
